A new continental referee!!! – Judo Referees Eure 27

Hello everyone,

We have great news for you.

As you may have noticed for some of you, Romain Basley brilliantly obtained the rank of continental referee!

The department as well as the Normandy league are very proud to have within them a new continental referee. This is a great first for our department!

It is indeed, from August 10 to 12, during the European Cup Juniors in Udine in Italy, that Romain took the continental referee exam (B license).

Romain started refereeing in 2005 and quickly obtained the title of departmental referee before becoming regional referee in 2008 and national referee in 2014.

To be able to be presented for this exam, Romain was ranked in the 1st referees following his various ratings on the main national championships.

After having brilliantly passed an oral English with the referees of the IJF AND the EJU when he arrived, Romain officiated for 2 days as a referee then was distributed the tie and crest intended to successful candidates.

He will now officiate at continental tournaments and championships, with, no doubt, the prospect of quickly joining the contingent of the best referees in the world.

Congratulations to Romain! Hoping that others will follow in the years to come!
