Benjamin Bonzi joins Arthur Fils in the semi-finals in Marseille

There will be at least one Frenchman in the final in Marseille. Benjamin Bonzi joined Arthur Fils in the last four of the Provençal tournament and the two men will face off on Saturday. In his city, Bonzi delivered a very solid performance against the wisp Alex de Minaur (6-2, 6-4) who could not resist as much as usual in the game.

Very quickly, the Australian was manhandled on the Central and let his rival escape the score (4-0 at the start of the game). The 60th in the world never let him come back in this first act and, if he experienced a few moments of relaxation at the start of the second (he quickly abandoned his serve), he finished the match with his foot fully pressed on the accelerator with five games in a row.

A nice way to erase his severe defeat against De Minaur at the Australian Open. On Sunday, the French could play the second final of his career on the ATP circuit after the one disputed (and lost) in Pune in January. Last year, Andrey Rublev deprived him of this honor in Marseille by beating him, in three sets, in the semis.
