Carossi Básquet warms up engines for a 2023 full of activity

Carossi Básquet finished a fruitful 2022 with more than 200 boys forming part of the different training categories. Now, they are warming up to start the activities at the Salesian College between February 27 and March 1.

One of the 3 brothers in charge of the Civil Association, Rodolfo Carosso, spoke with La Portada and revealed that they will add the U15 category starting this year because “there are boys from the U13 who are going to stay, they will not go to Independiente or San Martin”. The activities will continue on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 6 in the afternoon and will last until midnight.

Carosso anticipated that it will be entered through Roca street (until now it was through Chacabuco). “In winter we couldn’t enter until school time was over, if we go down Roca street we are indoors inside the property without disturbing the kids from the school,” he explained.

He added that those who want to join can approach directly from the first week of March on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 6:00 p.m. onwards. They have not yet defined the cost, but they made it clear that they will seek an affordable rate and that they will maintain it throughout the year without increases, despite inflation.

“We do not like to move the quota because we see the reality of what the pocket of families is, that everything goes up everywhere and salaries do not,” said Carosso. He also recalled that those children whose families cannot pay receive scholarships so that they are not left out of the sporting activity, which will last until the last Friday before Christmas.

“Anyone who has an economic problem, come and tell us in private. Sport does not have to be a problem for families, the boy has to do the activity. Out there it is a problem for parents who do not have a job, the kid has to continue and the day it is solved, they start to pay ”, stressed the coach.

In reference to the commitments that are assumed for the year, Rodolfo Carosso anticipated: “Racing de Trelew already extended the invitation to return the visit they made to us last year, Gimnasia de Comodoro also, there is the National Mini Basketball, to which They invited us and we confirmed participation”.

In addition, they intend to travel to Córdoba to return some visits they received from institutions in that part of the country. They were also invited to General Pico, La Pampa, to participate once again in the tournament organized by Independiente in that town.

Likewise, on Carossi’s agenda is organizing a 3×3 with an important participation of teams that will arrive from different parts of the province, with a large number of cash prizes. The dates, for now, are to be defined.

To solve all this they will self-manage, as they usually do. Carosso recalled that “we do not travel with contributions from the province. We only asked the Sports Development Fund once last year”.

For this reason, they will once again resort to pizza sales, among other activities, and will appeal to the collaboration of working families to be able to obtain the funds that allow the trips to be made.

The year has just begun and for Carossi Básquet it arrives full of work in pursuit of training basketball.
