Casemiro is the only Brazilian in the world’s best; see the team

In addition to consecrating Lionel Messi for the seventh time, the FIFA The Best Football Awards elected the best in the world in football last season. In addition to the PSG star and the Argentine national team, one of the most anticipated moments of the event held in Paris (France) was the selection of the year, with the winners position by position.

The only Brazilian on the list was Casemiro. The defensive midfielder, currently defending Manchester United, was chosen for his numbers at Real Madrid, European and Spanish champions in the 2021/22 season. Author of the Champions League title goal, Vinícius Jr did not even appear among the 11, which generated criticism from former players, journalists and fans.

In addition to Casemiro, three other Brazilians were among the 26 finalists, goalkeeper Alisson (Liverpool), defender Thiago Silva (Chelsea) and striker Neymar (PSG).
