CBP Ordoño II León makes the difference at home

Last Saturday, the La Torre sports center became the epicenter of regional badminton where one of the qualifying tests for the national ranking in sub-11, sub-15 and sub-19 categories was held thanks to the collaboration of the León City Council. 80 players from different parts of the country participated, of which 16 belonged to CBP Ordoño II León where they got 11 medals.

In the sub-11 category, Pablo González and Daniel Pardo won gold in the men’s doubles modality, Pablo also won the bronze medal in the men’s singles and Claudia Ramos won bronze in the mixed doubles modality together with to the player Alonso Fernández (Pajarillos). It should be noted that it was the first federated test in which the three smallest players of the club participated.

In the sub-15 category, two bronzes were obtained. One of them was for Marco García in the men’s singles modality and the other for the mixed couple formed by Paula Sanz and Adrián Pardo. Daniella Llamazares, Sara Fernández, Edgar Vargas, Jon García and Javier Melón also participated in this category.

In the under-19 category, the most outstanding player was Hugo Pérez who won the gold medal together with his brother Andrés Pérez in the men’s doubles and the silver medal in the individual. Andrés took bronze in individual. The women’s doubles made up of Laura Alonso and Nuria Alonso took silver in the women’s doubles after losing the final in a close match. Nuria took bronze in individual and Laura also with bronze in the mixed doubles modality with Pablo García.

The final delivery of medals was made by the representative of the city council of León and municipal sports schools Fernando Morán and the president of the badminton federation of Castilla y León Juan Manuel Barrera.
