Trainee to Herry Iman Pierngadi say Daniel Martin probably will be examined today regarding his left leg which is inflamed.
As you know, together Leo Rolly Carnando, Daniel Marthin again won the BWF World Tour tournament title. This time at the Thailand Masters 2023. Daniel had to go through his struggle to win the title in pain.
His left leg was swollen and he had to be more effective in completing the final against Su Ching Heng/Ye Hong Wei (Taiwan). Luckily, Leo/Daniel were able to finish the match in two straight games. The score ended for The Babies’ victory 21-16 and 21-17.
Daniel himself had said that during the final match which ended on Sunday (5/2), he lived it by playing more efficiently. Because his leg still hurts. “With sore feet, I just play recklessly. I forget about my sore feet and play as if nothing hurts,” said Daniel in his written statement.
Dr. Grace Joselini Corlesa, a PBSI doctor, explained that there was inflammation on the sole of Daniel’s left foot. The plan, upon arrival in Jakarta will be examined in more detail to determine the cause.
So how is Daniel’s recent arrival in Jakarta? “Yesterday, I just got home at night. Most today, after taking care of the visa, go to the doctor first, get treatment,” said Herry IP to detikSport, Tuesday (7/2/2023).
When asked about the cause of Daniel’s swollen feet because of four consecutive tournaments, the coach who was nicknamed the Fire Dragon did not want to speculate. Prior to the Thailand Masters, Daniel also participated in three tournaments namely Indonesia Masters, India Open, and Malaysia Open 2023.
“I don’t understand exactly. But in my opinion, the calluses on the left foot are at the end, under the thumb, but on the back, it really stands out, because the calluses are thick,” he said.
“Yesterday I saw that the calluses were too thick. Maybe they didn’t pay attention to the treatment. If the calluses are hard and thick, maybe because they are often used for jumping and other things, the tournaments are long, so they press down, to the bone of the thumb, it swells. So the term is like inflammation,” said Herry .
