MADRID, 9 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Leo Messi’s brother Matías rectified his statements on Wednesday in which he harshly criticized FC Barcelona and apologized to the Barça fans, assuring that the Catalan club “has given a lot” to his family and to the Argentine ’10’.
“I was only with my son and friends, making a joke,” Lionel Messi’s younger brother excused himself in a post on his Instagram profile. “I’m very sorry and I apologize to everyone, especially the Barcelona fans,” added his statement.
In a conversation on Twitch this Wednesday, Matías stated that Barcelona “began to be known for Messi”, because before the arrival of the Argentine “nobody knew him” and “Real Madrid was better known”. “That they pay you like this is not good,” added Messi’s brother in his words about the treatment of the Argentine star in the Catalan team.
However, Matías rectified on his social networks. “How am I going to think that of a club as big as Barcelona and its history, which has given both my family and Leo a lot,” he assured, indicating that Catalonia is the “second home” of the Messi family.
In his words of criticism towards the Barcelona entity, Joan Laporta was one of Matías’s targets. “I have a newspaper clipping that says ‘Messi should go back to Barcelona.’ ungrateful, with everything that Messi gave Barcelona,” he said on Wednesday.
