Proliga 2023 Final Four Results: LavAni Wins First Win, Beats Samator 3-0

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Jakarta men’s volleyball team LavAni Allo Bank won its first win in the first series of the 2023 PLN Mobile Proliga final 4. The defending champion team won over Surabaya BIN Samator 3-0 (25-20, 25-22, 25-16) at Tridharma Sports Hall Gresik, Friday, 24 February 2023.



This result is LavAni’s third win over Samator in the Proliga this season after they recorded two wins in the regular round. However, in those two matches LavAni won with a score of 3-1.

Assistant coach of Jakarta LavAni Allo Bank, Samsul Jais, revealed the tactics used by his team. “We have predicted that we must be strong in serving and the strategy worked,” said the two after the match, as contained in the committee’s release.

Even though Jorge Gonzales Garcia was not reinforced, who was having a bad cold, LavAni still appeared fierce and dictated the game. They dominated through attacks from Fahri Septian’s hard serves and smashes, Boy Arnes, Leandro Martin, Hendra Kurniawan and Malizi.

Samator who is more stressed has difficulty developing a game strategy. Rivam Nurmulki et al. more attacks with open balls that are blocked several times by the opponent’s block.

Samator’s game didn’t improve in the third set after they trailed by two sets. LavAni continued to press rampantly and was far ahead in scoring.



“Our opponent is actually not Samator, but Bhayangkara Presisi in the next match on Sunday,” said Samsul Jais.

The captain of the LavAni Allo Bank team, Dio Zulkifli, added that this victory was a valuable capital for his team to look into the next matches.

“What is clear is that we should be grateful for this result and hopefully we can continue to play well until the grand final,” said the national team tosser.

Meanwhile, the coach of Surabaya BIN Samator, Ryan Masajedi, admitted that the quality of the opponents he faced was indeed better, but this match was also a valuable experience for his team.

“Hopefully the next game we can play better,” he said.

Meanwhile, Rivan Nurmulki added that all the players had tried to give maximum performance, but indeed LavAni’s game was much better.

“We are grateful to be able to qualify for the final four, especially since many of our players are still juniors. Like Agil Angga, he has only appeared in full this season, previously he was only a substitute,” said the Surabaya BIN Samator captain.
