18th Lower Saxony Sports Awards
The canoe racer Paulina Paszek, the swimmer Sven Schwarz and the women’s soccer team from VfL Wolfsburg have won the Lower Saxony athletes’ elections 2022 of the LandesSportBund (LSB) Lower Saxony. A total of 26,315 votes were cast online and by voting cards, of which 9186 for the athletes, 8609 for the athletes and 8520 for the teams. There were plenty of sporting highlights in 2022: the Winter Olympics in Beijing, the European Championships in Munich or the European Basketball Championships, but also many world championships and German championships. The nominated athletes and teams have once again demonstrated their top sporting performances and are therefore also outstanding representatives of the sporting state of Lower Saxony in 2022. Around 250 people took part in the honoring event in the GOP Varieté Hanover – including many young talents from the LOTTO Sports boarding school at the Olympic base in Lower Saxony.
The result consists of the public vote and the vote of an expert jury.
