She plays soccer, has more Instagram fans than her famous compatriot Roger Federer – and now a date for mixed doubles: Swiss Alisha Lehmann keeps making headlines off the pitch.
With twelve million followers, Alisha Lehmann (24) is the most successful Swiss sports star on Instagram. Only recently did the footballer overtake none other than tennis legend Roger Federer (41) in this ranking.
“There’s no explanation for that, it just happened,” says the national player about her gigantic success on social media. The striker is annoyed that it is such a big topic in her home country. “I’m a 100% footballer, train every day, play on the weekends. I had never heard from a club or national team that social media was a problem.”
Alisha Lehmann inspires tennis pro
Sometimes she posts more about football, sometimes pictures from private life, says Lehmann about her strategy. And sometimes pictures of the tennis court. She recently went there with her Swiss teammates – and promptly caught the attention of a tennis pro.
Petros Tsitsipas (22), the younger and much less successful brother of world number three Stefanos Tsitsipas (24) from Greece, was so impressed by the photos that he invited Alisha Lehmann to join the activity. “Shall we play mixed?” Asked the doubles specialist. “Let’s go,” was the kicker’s response. Here we go!
Whether it really comes to the mixed double date of the two and when it should be so far is open. After all, an Instagram user announced that he wanted to take care of a wildcard for the two. Possibly because he would like to see the footballer and the tennis player together.
Perhaps his comment was also an allusion to the fact that, thanks to his famous brother, Tsitsipas has always enjoyed such invitations to tournaments in which he has played due to his world ranking position (No. 1396 in singles, No. 136 in doubles). shouldn’t really take part…

Alisha Lehmann will make sure her tennis outing doesn’t affect her job as a footballer too much. After all, the World Cup is coming up in the summer (July 20 to August 20), and she would love to be there.
Lehmann canceled her participation in the European Championship last year for mental reasons. Most recently, she celebrated her comeback in the “Nati” when the new coach Inka Grings (44) took her to a course in Marbella and brought her into the final quarter of an hour in the game against Poland (February 17, 2023).
By the way, the former German national striker has no problem with the social media hype surrounding her player. “As long as no one comes onto the pitch with their cell phone, I’m deeply relaxed,” says Grings, who has been in office since January 1, 2023. (are)
