In the youth basketball Bundesliga (NBBL/U19), the Sartorius Juniors suffered their first defeat in the relegation round north. As expected, the Juniors and Hagen were on par at the beginning of the game. The guests from Göttingen acted with energy and aggressiveness and secured the first period 21:17. In the second quarter, too, things went well for the young Veilchen, who extended their lead to 51:44 at half-time. But after the change of sides, nothing worked for the Berov team. The Göttingen acted too passively and were impressed by Hagen’s attacks. The hosts now scored a lot of points from quick attacks and offensive rebounds and took the lead before the final quarter (60:63). In the last section, the juniors couldn’t hold back and lost significantly in the end.
“That was nothing. But there are days like that in basketball,” Berov said. “It happened to us for the first time this season, but it must not happen again. We can learn a lot from this defeat and get better.” – Points BG: Bode (12), Zelanto Vorsovsky (9), Larsen (13), Haase (12), Dohrmann (5), Brand (7), Schmalz ( 3), Krstonic (6).

The Sartorius Youngsters were leading in the Youth Basketball Bundesliga (JBBL/U16) at Friedenauer TSC shortly before the end, but then had to go into extra time and lost 67:78 (51:45). The youngsters balanced the first period against the Berliners and then really accelerated in the second quarter (41:29). After the change of ends, the hosts from the capital caught up and reduced the lead to 51:45. In the last section, the youngsters did not manage to save a five-point lead in the last minute and had to go into extra time. In the five extra minutes, the home side managed almost everything, while the Heinemann team couldn’t regain control.
“It was a good game for us up until extra time,” said Heinemann. “We then gave up the almost certain victory very unluckily.” – Points BG: Großbach (8), Töllner (7), Hain (2), Nguyen (30), Hutapea (5), Braass (2), Haase ( 13).
