The first U12 softball camp with 29 participants aged 7-12 took place in Rüsselsheim last weekend. After the welcome by DBV vice presidents Alexandra Stuckstätte, Nicole Broziewski and youth secretary Nina Warnecke with coaches Katharina Szalay, Claudia Volkmann, Marvin Stockhaus and Tanja Zuber, the camp started with an introductory game.

Divided into 3 groups, there were training sessions in pitching, catching and hitting, as well as infield and outfield sessions. The kids were highly motivated and didn’t let small “defeats” get them down. Fun was of course always in the foreground and the many smiling faces during the camp also brought a lot of joy to the coaches and supervisors.

At the end of the first day, the group went to a great pizzeria for dinner. There the kids were given a password, which they had to ask for in the hotel before opening their room door. We are proud to report that “Antilope” was used successfully without exception.

On the second day there were more training sessions and after the lunch break what was learned was then implemented in terms of gameplay. At the end of this absolutely great weekend, all the kids received a certificate of participation, a gym bag with the camp logo and a BB5 drinking bottle as a souvenir.

We would like to thank all participants again, the parents who always support their kids, the coaches and our youth secretary Nina Warnecke, who did a great job in advance. We are looking forward to the next softball camp, with the planning coming soon
is started.
