Fluminense Football Club is making history by receiving, at CT Vale das Laranjeiras, on Monday (27/3), the first girl to train and play with Moleques de Xerém. Alice Duarte, 8 years old, was selected to train with the Under-9 kids after passing the tricolor futsal tests. With an impressive performance on the court, Alice is ready to show off her skills on the field.

“We are very happy to receive Alice here in Xerém and we will be giving all the necessary support for her to develop as an athlete. It is something new, a special moment for the club. We will strive, as we always do, so that she can perform well and be an example so that many other girls can fulfill their dream of playing soccer”, said the executive director of the base, Antônio Garcia.

Alice Duarte, despite being very young, already has a lot of potential to be a great player in the future. Monitored by Fluminense in recent years, the girl will also be closely monitored by the club’s women’s football, which also trains and shares spaces with men’s football, in Xerém. The player will be part of the club’s Under-9 team this year. There are no competitions just for girls at this age and the CBF has released mixed teams starting this year in all youth categories.

“It’s a great emotion, I’m very happy. It has always been a big dream of ours, because at this age physical strength is equal and girls can train and play with boys. Fluminense is a club that has been breaking paradigms since 2019 and now we are breaking another one. Alice was already drawing attention, everyone has always had a special eye for the potential she already has”, celebrated the manager of women’s football, Amanda Storck.

Approved this year for futsal, Alice participated in tests with the kids on the courts and showed a very high level, being approved to join the main squad of the Under-9 category. Standing out in training, the player will now be part of the futsal transition process with the field, which starts at Under-9 and goes to Under-13.

“Alice is a different player, with a lot of potential. She had already tested here with us before and this time she was approved by our futsal technical commission. She has been doing good training and now she will be able to start the transition to the field , along with his teammates,” said futsal manager Ivan Proença.

With Alice making history at Fluminense, the club is showing its commitment to the future of football and encouraging more and more girls to follow their dreams. The future of the sport looks bright with athletes like Alice leading the way.
