Barça sleeps as leader with the derby against Joventut

MADRID, 25 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Barça conquered with authority (87-71) the derby against Joventut this Saturday in matchday 24 of the Endesa League, solid from start to finish to give joy to the Palau and sleep leader of the competition in the absence of Real Madrid playing and Cazoo Baskonia.

Satoransky (19 points and a PIR of 27) and Sanli (16 and 23) led the blaugrana’s 20-4 lead, a victory above that broke the three-way tie at the top with which the day began. Barça kept their defense at a high level and scored with pace to command the derby. Mirotic added in the third quarter for the locals.

La ‘Penya’, who hopes not to lose ground with Lenovo Tenerife for fourth place, did not stand up like they did in their victory in the first leg. Sarunas Jasikevicius’ men are back on track with the final stretch of the Euroleague at stake and a League that is also heading towards the playoffs.

In addition, Moncho Fernández’s 400 games as League coach did not have a victory celebration with the clear defeat of Monbus Obradoiro against Rio Breogán (67-74). The team from Lugo achieved its first victory in Fontes do Sar, in a derby that had Ethan Happ as the most valued player (15).

Meanwhile, BAXI Manresa achieved a vital victory (79-86) against Bàsquet Girona, for the first time two in a row this season, to continue monitoring the relegation zone. In the same way, Coviran Granada added to stave off that burn, with a stellar Renfroe (20 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists), against UCAM Murcia (88-67).
