After being passed over by all 30 Manfred Tour teams due to sexual assault allegations against him, pitcher Trevor Bauer has signed a one-year contract with the Baystars of Yokohama, Japan.

The Californian gunner’s last game in the major leagues dates back to June 28, 2021. Three days later, the ex-member of the Los Angeles Dodgers was suspended for 326 games by major league baseball when a woman told him accused of rape.
The suspension has since been reduced to 194 games and the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has decided not to pursue the allegations against the 32-year-old athlete. However, two other Ohio native women in turn blamed Bauer for his abusive behavior.
Free as the air, he could get along with all the major league teams, but they no doubt deemed his talent not worth the public relations nightmare that would have accompanied his signing.
Bauer won the Cy-Young Trophy in 2020, with the Cincinnati Reds. He also played for the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Cleveland Indians.
In Japan, he will receive a sum of $4 million. The Dodgers, however, still owe him $24.4 million in salary under the deal he signed in 2020.
