Cup sensation Spakenburg gets permission to receive 300 PSV fans | Football

The municipality of Bunschoten decided on Tuesday that away supporters may be present next month at the game between Spakenburg and PSV in the semi-finals of the KNVB Cup. Three hundred PSV fans are welcome at Sportpark De Westmaat.

The Brabant fans must travel to the fishing village with a mandatory bus combination, the triangle of the municipality of Bunschoten decided in good consultation with Spakenburg.

In addition to the three hundred PSV fans, there is also room on the blue side of Sportpark De Westmaat for about six thousand Spakenburg supporters. The club is expanding the complex with temporary stands.

The amateur club from the Second Division caused a historic stunt by reaching the semi-finals of the cup tournament at the expense of FC Utrecht (1-4). “We will make a joint effort to make it a wonderful historic football evening,” says acting mayor Albertine van Vliet.

The semi-final is scheduled for April 4. Spakenburg and PSV kick off at 8 p.m. at De Westmaat. The other semi-final between Feyenoord and Ajax is scheduled for a day later. No away supporters are welcome in De Kuip.
