The French Federation of Baseball and Softball unveils the list of participants for the first edition of the Super League Softball and the program for the first weekend of competition which will take place on March 25 and 26, 2023 in Evry-Courcouronnes.
Admission to Pharaons Field will be free for those 15 years and under and paid for for those 16 years and over, in the amount of €4 for the whole weekend with a free drink.
Super League Softball Participants
They are all part of a high-level perspective and are selected by the National Technical Department in conjunction with the managers of the various French teams. The list brings together athletes from the various women’s softball, senior, 22U and 18U collectives, players playing in the French Championship who could be selected for the next international events as well as foreign players playing in Division 1 Women’s Softball.
THE athletes will be divided into three teams by a lottery system held each week leading up to the competition (the first is scheduled for March 20), with three captains taking turns selecting players in hats (pitchers, catchers, infielders and outfielders, etc.). While the top three captains will be chosen, the next ones will be chosen based on their performance, with the top three in the standings becoming captains for the next round.

How Super League Softball Works
The Super Leaguewhich puts individual performance in the spotlight, repose on a point system. Each player wins or loses points depending on her offensive and defensive performances. according to the grid that you can find below. A sure hit makes for example gain 10 points, a home-run forty. A defensive takeout two, a strikeout two more. A won round is worth 10 points, a won game 30 and being named MVP of a game 25.
There will also be a mandatory change in each inning in each team, the obligation to pitch at least two innings by an 18U pitcher and an automatic change of inning after four runs scored.
The objective of the competition is therefore to accumulate as many points as possible. The winner of the Super League Softball will be the athlete with the most points at the end of the three weekends of competitioni.e. 18 matches (6 per weekend).
In addition, and in order to make the games more dynamic and to observe the adaptability of the athletes, specific game situations drawn by lot will be implemented during Sunday games: full bases, runner on second base, etc.
The Super League is a collective but also individual approach to softball which is based on strategy and communication.
