Ice hockey: Cergy-Pontoise crushes Gap and heads towards qualification in the semi-finals

This time, there was no photo. The day after a first hooked success (6-5 ap) in the series of quarter-finals of Ligue Magnus which opposes them to Gap, the Jokers of Cergy-Pontoise this time martyred the team of Hautes-Alpes (5- 1).

The Jokers left no room for suspense. They were already leading 2-0 at the end of the first period thanks to goals from young Theo Gueurif (20) and Anthony Rinaldi. During the second period, the Parisians killed the match by scoring three new goals, a double from the American Aaron Miller before a second goal from Gueurif. The realization of Gap by the Slovenian Bostjan Golicic in the third period did not change anything.

Fourth in the regular season, the men of coach Jonathan Paredes are therefore ideally launched in this series in the best of five matches before moving to Gap (5th). A victory over the next two matches in the Hautes-Alpes, Saturday or Sunday, would save them a tricky match 5 on the ice of Aren’Ice, Wednesday March 15.

In the series between Grenoble and Mulhouse, which will designate the possible future opponent of Cergy-Pontoise, the Brûleurs de Loup de Grenoble, leaders of the regular season and favorites for the title, also widened the gap by signing a second success at home ( 5-1).

Last year, the Jokers reached the semi-finals, where they were eliminated by Grenoble. They aspire to do better this season.
