Indurain and Unzué, together in the fight against ALS in the Titan Desert

BARCELONA, 9 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Kosner-Saltoki Home team will donate 1 euro for every kilometer traveled by its members in the Skoda Titan Desert Morocco 2023, which takes place from April 30 to May 5, to the Luzón Foundation to help in the fight against amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ELA), with the help of former soccer player and coach and ‘ELA Team player’ Juan Carlos Unzué.

To ensure that his ‘titans’, including the five-time Tour de France winner Miguel Indurain, manage to travel as many kilometers as possible and raise more money in the fight against ALS, Juan Carlos Unzué — who has been fighting since 2019 against illness — sent an uplifting message to the 43-member Kosner-Saltoki Home team.

“I am going to be part of that great adventure that you have decided to carry out with the team in the next Titan Desert. In what way? Look, the team has decided to donate, through the Luzón Foundation in the fight against ALS, one euro per every kilometer that each and every one of the team members cover in this race”, explained Unzué.

“With your effort, with your donation, you are going to help us promote ALS research, make the disease visible and monitor and, obviously, empower the ALS community,” he argued.

The exporter also hopes that this donation will serve as a motivating element for the 43 ‘titans’ of the Kosner-Saltoki Home team. “I wish and hope that when a moment of difficulty arrives, a moment of extreme fatigue, which will surely appear, this will serve as an extra motivation to keep going, not to give up and fulfill and finish your objective,” he added.

During six stages, the participants of the Skoda Titan Desert Morocco 2023 will have to travel more than 620 kilometers and overcome 7,700 meters of unevenness. To face this test, the team – made up of clients, employees and professional cyclists – includes figures such as Miguel Indurain or Konny Looser, winner of the last edition, as well as Vera Looser, winner of a stage, or Tessa Kortekaas.
