The head coach of the “Optibet Virsliga” team “Valmiera” Jurģis Kalns commented on the loss against “Liepāja” at the post-match press conference.
It has already been announced that yesterday the Valmieri team recognized the superiority of “Liepāja” 0:1 at home. The home team scored the only goal after a blunder by the goalkeeper. Unlike the Valmiera club, which played the second match, it was the first game of the season for the Liepaja team.
“Total dominance, nothing more I can say. It was difficult to prepare for this game, because we did not know what “Liepāja” was, what their surnames were, what the players were. But I’m shocked at how, sorry, weak this team looks. I have a feeling that today, without underestimating anyone, we lost to “Daugavpils”, “Tukum”, Kalns was harsh.
“But we expected something like that. We knew that the opponent would not try to play, but would rely on big and heavy forwards in front, so that Dodo would try to get hold of the ball. It happened that way, but we conceded a stupid goal because of our mistake. It’s good that it happened today, we knew it would happen like this at some point,” said the specialist.
