Kim Min-ji and Min-seon ‘twin’ sisters… Badminton Netherlands Junior Open singles ‘gold and silver’ won

Twin sisters Kim Min-ji and Min-seon won gold and silver medals in the women’s singles at the Dutch Junior Open Badminton Championships.

Kim Min-ji beat Kim Min-sun to win the women’s singles at the Dutch Junior Open Badminton Championships held in Haarlem, the Netherlands on the 5th (local time).

The final match was between twin sisters Kim Min-ji and Kim Min-sun. Her older sister Kim Min-ji took 1 game and her younger brother Kim Min-sun took 2 game. In the last three games, Kim Min-sun withdrew due to a thigh injury, and Kim Min-ji won the championship.

Sisters Kim Min-ji and Min-seon were introduced as twin badminton prodigies to the SBS Gifted & Talented Exploration Team when they were in the 6th grade of elementary school. She also received the Dream Tree Award at the Korea Women’s Sports Awards.

Last year, she dominated the women’s high school division by winning all 18 matches in doubles at the national competition, including the national badminton championship. At the World Junior Championships last October, he led Korea to win the mixed team event for the first time in nine years. She also stood out in international competitions, winning the women’s doubles at the Asian Junior Badminton Championships in December.

Meanwhile, in mixed doubles, Bum-soo Park and Seo-yeon Yeon took the top spot.
