Quarterback Geno Smith is finalizing a long-term deal with the Seattle Seahawks, reported Monday NFL Network.
Smith revived his career with a strong season last year. He led the NFL in completing 69.8 percent of his passes, en route to 4,282 passing yards.
It would be a three-season deal that will earn him $105 million, according to journalist Tom Pelissero. The contract would guarantee him $52 million during the 2023 campaign.
Smith had 30 touchdown passes, finishing fourth in the league in that effort. The 32-year-old was the victim of 11 interceptions.
He also rushed for 366 yards, ranking eighth among quarterbacks on the league.
A starting quarterback in his first two seasons in the NFL, with the Jets, Smith then acted as a reserve for six seasons. From 2019 to 2021, he was Russell Wilson’s backup with the Seahawks.
Seattle went 9-8 before losing in the first round, 41-23 to the San Francisco 49ers.
