Racing and Danubio drew 1-1 in an entertaining match at Parque Palermo

Racing and Danubio equalized 1-1 opening the fifth date of the Apertura tournament at Parque Palermo, distributing units in an entertaining and changing duel.

The game began with a favorable first quarter of an hour for the locals, who became strong from their midfield zone with an active Cabral and from there he created a couple of offensive occasions.

A cross shot by Juan Sebastián Rivero that passed close by and an attempt by Rodrigo Rey over Goicoechea warned Sayago’s men of their intentions.

The answer was with a shot from Kevin Lewis that went high, in a duel without too much intensity and with several quality players who could not weigh in the process.

When they did, the opening for the visit appeared. A great pass changing sides from Leandro Sosa to Rafael Haller ended in a creeping cross that Sebastián Fernández defined anticipating the defense with a beautiful cue that became 1-0 at 18′.

A blow for the Escuelita that had the tie almost immediately with a ball leaked to Gorocito but whose shot found the goalkeeper’s gloves to conjure up.

From there to the end, it was Conde’s men who managed the actions, controlled the ball and were even able to increase with an action by Rea. Nothing moved the slightest difference with which they went to rest.

Merited

The second half began with actions for both of them, first Rey maneuvering in the rival area but unable to execute and then Cepillo González had it after a pass from Alejo Cruz but could not finish off comfortably.

But as the minutes went by, the pace began to drop, with the visitors defending themselves with the ball and trying to expand, mainly with Cruz on the left.

A cross from the left that Rey headed unmarked in the area could have been the tie, but the Albiverdes lacked precision to finish off the job.

That final shot that he needed was found on the substitute bench, with Tomás Verón Lupi who scored the equalizer at 68′. A ball that Lewis lost at the start ended up in the hands of the Argentines, which he defined with a “three-fingered” shot that he hit the post and went inside.

Celebration and growth on the field for Fermani’s men who were able to reach the second with Gorocito and went for more on the field against a stunned rival.

The truth is that nothing changed the 1-1 with which the match ended, where Racing is still unable to win in the tournament and Danubio was unable to get two consecutive wins (it beat Plaza the previous stage).
