Hoam Mountain is located in Siheung-dong, Geumcheon-gu. Hoamsan Mountain is a 393m high rocky mountain and is famous for its mountain climbing healing course in the city, which is connected to Samseongsan Mountain. In particular, because the mountain resembles the shape of a tiger, it is called ‘Hoam Mountain’.

Hoamsan Mountain has many historic sites and historic traditional temples, such as Hoamsanseong Fortress, Hanwoomul, Seokgusang, and Hoapsa Temple.

In particular, Hoam Neulsolgil, which crosses between the pine tree forest bathing area of Hoamsan Mountain, is frequently visited by people. The walking course starts at Hoamsanmun Gate, located at San 100-43 Siheung-dong, Geumcheon-gu. If you come by train, get off at Geumcheon-gu Office Station on Line 1 and take the village bus No. 1 going up to Siheung-dong and get off at the stop at the entrance of Hoapsa Temple.

At the entrance of Hoamsan Mountain, a signboard with a tiled roof on top of two wooden pillars with the words Hoamsanmun (虎巖山門) written on it welcomes walkers. If you go uphill for about 10 minutes from Hoamsanmun Gate, you will arrive at Hoapsa Temple, a traditional temple of the Joseon Dynasty. It is said that the temple was built at a location corresponding to the tiger’s tail to suppress the tiger’s energy.

As you walk while feeling the atmosphere of Hoapsa Temple, it leads to Hoam Neulsolgil, where a fine wind always blows. The barrier-free forest road, which is a total of 1.8 km from Hoapsa Temple to the Heungsan Badminton Court through the pine tree forest bathing area, is designed so that the disabled and the elderly can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the forest while walking.

If you move along the well-laid deck road, you will come to an observation rest area where you can see the boundary between downtown Geumcheon-gu and Hoam Mountain at a glance. This is the best place to enjoy the red sunset at sunset.

On both sides of the deck path that crosses the pine tree forest bathing area from the observation shelter, straight pine tree trees form a spectacular view. If you walk calmly while breathing in the scent of the forest, you can feel that your body and mind are healed with the clear air. There are shelters all over Hoam Neulsol-gil, so anyone can easily enjoy the taste of Hoamsan Mountain, and thanks to the lights installed in all sections, it is a good place to take a rest with nature even at night.

When you enjoy a healthy forest bath, a fork in the road appears. At this time, it is strongly recommended to go down along the Siheung Valley signpost. If you pass the badminton court with the sound of birdsong for about 30 minutes, you can see the recently restored Siheung Valley.

Geumcheon-gu completed the first-phase ecosystem restoration project in August of last year, restoring the old mood of Siheung Valley, where water flow was cut off due to urbanization, and creating a waterfront space using beautiful natural resources. Groundwater is circulated every day, and the valley water flows all year round. The slope is gentle and the surrounding area is surrounded by dense forest. In the lower part of the valley, there is a shelter and a shade canopy where you can dip your feet and take a rest, and in the upper part there is Ongdalsaem and a wooden bridge that serves as an observatory, making it an ideal place for a family outing in summer.

In particular, in the ecological pond of the Siheung Valley, there are endangered species that can only live in clean areas. It is said that they have safely migrated thanks to the creation of a new habitat here for the maengkkongs found during the local development process in 2021. Starting with the restoration of the Siheung Valley ecosystem, it is planned to create a resident-friendly ecological park, so it is expected that an ecotourism attraction for all generations, from children to adults, will be born.

Hoam Neulsol-gil and Siheung Valley-gil in Geumcheon-gu are sure to be healing shelters where you can recharge yourself with nature. If you stay alone and together, you can find yourself purified in green, so I recommend you to move your steps right now. Provided by Geumcheon-gu Office>
