A brilliant Anthony Edwards prevented the Denver Nuggets’ sweep of the Minnesota Timberwolves

The Minnesota Timberwolves have one more life. With a great performance by Anthony Edwardsdirected by Chris Finch beat the Denver Nuggets 114-108 in overtime and thus they avoided the sweep in the series of First Round of the NBA Playoffs. In this way, the Brooklyn Nets is the only team that said goodbye to the postseason with a 0-4, in this case against the 76ers.

The Nuggets will have a new opportunity to end the series, now at home, on Tuesday April 25.

Minnesota seemed to have the victory in their pocket in regulation time, with a +12 with just over two minutes remaining. However, a string of 3-pointers and points by Michael Porter Jr. and Nikola Jokic they forced an improbable overtime, after equalizing at 96.

The Timberwolves were close to another collapse in extra timebut a Edwards triple key it put the final brake on Denver’s comeback intentions.

Although his team has not accompanied him, Edwards continues to show that he already has Playoff superstar level. The Atlanta native started slow with 18 points in Game 1, but came from converting 41 and 36 units in the following meetings. This Sunday? Another production in style, at the end of 34 points and that key conversion at the end of the extension.

Los 129 points (32.3 average) that Edwards wears in the series, are franchise record for a Minnesota player, in the first four games of a Playoff crossover. Everything, with just 21 years.

Around Edwards, little to get excited about in Minnesota, beyond the always profitable Mike Conley (19 points, 7-13 from the field). Karl-Anthony Townsthe other star of the team, had another very doubtful and passive production: He finished with 17 points and 11 rebounds, but he barely took 9 shots and, like several other times, left his team at a key moment, committing six personal fouls.

Edwards looks like a rising superstar, in a team without the means to enhance its takeoff.

For Denver, which had 43 points and 11 rebounds by Nikola Jokic, nothing to worry about too much. It is not the first time that a team relaxes with a 3-0 advantage and if the logic is given, they should not have major problems in close the series in the fifth game.
