[미디어타임즈=신정식 기자] On the 12th, the Anseong City Disabled Sports Association held a ceremony to pray for the victory of the Anseong City Disabled Athletes ahead of the 13th Gyeonggi-do Disabled Sports Festival 2023 Seongnam.
About 100 people attended the ceremony, including Anseong Mayor Kim Bo-ra, National Assembly member Choi Hye-young, city council president An Jeong-yeol, and athletes and guardians.
The Gyeonggi-do Paralympic Games will be held in Seongnam from the 27th to the 30th. The Anseong Paralympic Team participated in 5 events last year and achieved excellent results, winning 3 silver medals in weightlifting, 1 bronze medal in badminton, 1 gold medal in gateball, and 1 gold medal in rowing. A total of 27 athletes will compete in 8 events including weightlifting, athletics, rowing and table tennis.
Anseong Mayor Kim Bo-ra said, “The number of events for the disabled athletes in Anseong City has increased by three compared to last year. We will prepare various sports programs for people with disabilities so that they can participate in more sports in the future.”
