ATP – Estoril, ATP – Marrakech > Muller in the final, Halys shakes Ruud

Two tricolors were playing their place for their first final on the big circuit.

In Marrakech, Alexandre Muller achieved this “feat” by leaving Pavel Kotov (114th) in straight sets: 7–6, 7–5. He will be opposed in the final this Sunday to the Spaniard Roberto Carballes Baena (82th).

If successful, the Frenchman who is already guaranteed to be Top 100 (Editor’s note: 96th), accrochera the 79th place, just that!

Trained at the Elite Tennis Center in Cannes by Jean-Christophe Faurel, it is clear that 26-year-old Alexandre is about to take a real leap forward.

This final confirms his good start to the season where he notably reached the 14 finals in Doha when he came from qualifying.

At the same time, in Estoril, Quentin Halys came very close to a great feat against Casper Ruud.

The French lost in the tie-break of 3th set after a superb “fight”: 4–6, 6–3, 6–7 (2).

Even if the disappointment must be great, Halys also knows that he has the game to hinder the biggest, even on clay.

He will surely take advantage of the coming week of rest to refine his game.
