Awards and honors for Danish badminton players Badminton Denmark

Viktor Axelsen, Hans-Kristian Vittinghus, Jeppe Ludvigsen, Torsten Berg as well as Kamilla Rytter Juhl and Christinna Pedersen were honored last night at the Badminton Europe Awards Gala in Baku.

The awards for Male Badminton Player of the Year in Europe 2022, Fan Favorite of the Year in Europe 2022 and Coach of the Year in Europe 2022 all went to Danes.

It is clear after Badminton Europe’s awards this evening at their gala in Baku.

Male Badminton Player of the Year in Europe 2022 went to Viktor Axelsen after his World Championship, European Championship and seven titles from the World Tour.

Hans-Kristian Vittinghus is not only well-liked among the fans here at home. The European fans are also crazy about the Danish fighter, which was proven when they had voted and named the Dane as Fan Favorite of the Year in Europe 2022. The reason why ‘HK’ won the award is that the fans think he has a entertaining playing style, is humble and that he has an inexhaustible commitment to the sport of badminton.

Dane Jeppe Ludvigsen ran for the award as Coach of the Year in Europe 2022 after his great results as German national coach. This includes, among other things, two EC gold medals, an EC silver medal and a WC bronze.

The living badminton legend Torsten Berg also received the Technical Official Award. The award is given for a lifetime commitment to the sport and is given to a retired technical official.

Last but not least, former All England champions Kamilla Rytter Juhl and Christinna Pedersen were inducted into Badminton Europe’s Hall of Fame for their impressive careers, which include World Cup silver in 2015, Olympic silver in 2016 and four European Championships in addition to the All England title in 2018.
