Comparison between the contract of Jalen Hurts and that of Patrick Mahomes

The agreement states that the 24 year old quarterback will have a chance to win $274.3 million in 2028 if incentives are included, plus the 4.3 million of his last year of rookie contract corresponding to this 2023 season.

These figures make the contract for many the best passer in the league, Patrick Mahomesnow seems like a bargain, as it now ranks sixth in the top of the most expensive contracts on average per season, with 45 million dollars, compared to the 51 million which averages the Hurts agreement annually.

The reality is that in the NFL comparing contracts between one player and another does not necessarily have to do with the quality or value of someone on the field.

Patrick Mahomesa Kansas City quarterback, has already won two regular season MVPs, two Super Bowl MVPs and two Super Bowl rings before his 28th birthdayso there is no one more deserving than him of the best contract in the NFL.

However, there are other factors to take into account, such as the fact that Philadelphia is more likely to suffer in the tope salarial than the Chiefs. And many times quarterbacks prefer to be well supported, with high-quality teammates, to have more chances of winning and less of getting injured, even if it means sacrificing some of their salary.
