Dirk Nowitzki becomes part of the Hall of Fame › BBL professionals

It was already known that Dirk Nowitzki might be inducted into the Hall of Fame this year. Since yesterday, Saturday, it has been clear that the best German basketball player of all time will actually receive this honor.

Nowitzki will be inducted into the Hall of Fame along with five other former professionals and coaches. Born in Würzburg, he shares this honor with Tony Parker, Pau Gasol, Dwyane Wade, Becky Hammon and Gregg Popovich, among others.

During his NBA career, Dirk Nowitzki played for the Dallas Mavericks between 1998 and 2019. With the Mavs, the now 44-year-old won the NBA Championship in 2011. That same season, Nowitzki was named NBA Finals MVP. In 2007, the former forward was honored as the NBA Most Valuable Player.

The 14-time NBA All-Star has a career 31,560 points in the NBA. This puts the Würzburg native in sixth place in this all-time ranking.
