Figure skating: Guignard-Fabbri masterpiece at the 2023 World Team Trophy! Italy at -5 from the podium

A closing in beauty. The 2022-2023 season of Charlène Guignard-Marco Fabbri ended with the last, wonderful, masterpiece. The blue dancers have in fact obtained the second position also in free dance at the World Team Trophy 2023 figure skating, recording again the personal best in the long segment and allowing Italy to close the gap on third place, now at -5 points.

In total state of grace the athletes trained by Barbara Fusar Poli performed with stellar quality all nine planned itemsstealing the eye above all in the combined lift, a difficulty that brought 15.15 points as a dowry, as well as in the circular stepthis too evaluated with a very high GOE. Receiving even a 10.0 from a judge in the “Composition” item of the program components, the Azzurri therefore obtained the new personal best of 132.34 (74.90, 57.44), keeping the Canadians at arm’s length Piper Gilles-Paul Poirierseconds with 128.48 (71.62, 56.86).

The tender was won by dispersion from Madison Chock-Evan Batesable to go even close to 140 gaining 138.41 (79.41, 59.00), new world record.

After five trials the United States firmly lead the general classification with a score of 74, followed by Japan, very far away at 55, and the revelation of South Korea, third with 53. Italy, on the other hand, occupies fifth place with 48, five lengths away from the lowest step of the podium. The goal now will be to keep the punch in the women’s competition and try to go all in on the final day scheduled for tomorrow.
