The Basque golfer got the traditional green jacket that the winner of the major receives (the sixth for Spain), in addition to recovering number one. But, as is also the tradition in this tournament, a Rahm it will be up to you to make and pay for the Champions Dinner (or Champions Dinner) for next year, and as the champion has already advanced: “I have not processed it yet. The only thing I know is going to happen, because I promised him, is that the chef José Andrés is going to burn me with the menu all year long.” Everything points to that some traditional Basque dish will be on the menu which will honor golfers.

The first time this dinner took place It was in 1952, when Ben Hogan wanted to invite the winners of previous editions. It is an event that brings together the Masters champions and the tournament director, a symbolic act that honors the current champion, who is in charge of choosing the menu.

On April 4, two days before the tournament began, a dinner was held in his honor. the one from dallas He opted for several classics for the match: mini cheeseburgers “Scottie style”, spicy prawns with sweet Thai chili, tortilla soup… There are other menus, such as the one chosen by Tiger Woods, that surprise more. The American offered chocolate with churros like dessert, when in 1998 he raised the major.

It is not the first time that it is the turn of a Spaniard to show his culinary tastes. First was Severiano Ballesteros, double entry (1980 and 1983), although the dishes are not known, since the records date from 1986. Jose Maria Olazabal He opted, in 1995, for paella, hake and tapas. Sergio Garcia wanted to share the honor with his Valencian origins and brought to the center of the table a soupy rice with lobster and tres leches cake (his wife’s recipe), who has already opted for chef José Andrés. He accompanied the menu with Spanish wines (Albariño and Ribera del Duero).

No menu has left anyone indifferent, but one of the ones that caught the most attention, beyond the Tiger Woods chocolate with churros or the Scheffler hamburgers, was the Phil Mickelson’s choice.
