Jost Kobusch from Bielefeld climbs the highest mountains in the world alone and without oxygen. But some alpinists do not trust him. What’s behind it?
Alaska, early February. A small plane lands on Kahiltna Glacier, located in Denali National Park, a wilderness of rock and ice. Jost Kobusch, 30 years old, born in Bielefeld, can be dropped off here. Before continuing on foot, he buries provisions and fuel for two weeks. That’s how long it can take for a rescue plane to reach him in an emergency.
