A few more weeks from Roland GarrosAdidas unveils its Paris Spring-Summer 2023 collection. Embodied by well-known players on the clay courts, the equipment manufacturer’s new range revolves around earthy colors and technologies intended to help athletes.
Adidas: a collection inspired by clay
This new sporty wardrobe has 14 items, for both men and women. We find there tennis clothes of high performance, thought out with an intelligent design, down to the smallest detail. To allow athletes to be the best on the court, the pieces feature multi-layers, targeted compression systems and technical constructions to facilitate gestures.
On the aesthetic side, all the pieces have been imagined in a palette of earthy tones, to “echo the colors and textures of the playing surface”, as revealed in a press release from the brand. Some models also have camouflage patterns, with the aim of better camouflage the movements of the sportsmen and sportswomen, but also the blows they prepare.

“The clay courts of Paris are iconic, which is why we decided to take inspiration from these surfaces when designing our new collection. tennis on clay is a unique experience of its kind: the balls do not bounce in the same way depending on the heat and, if the rhythm of the games is less furious, the athletes must call upon even more technique. Tennis players also have the possibility of sliding on this surface in order to return a ball that one would have thought lost. This new collection has technical characteristics that reflect the nuances of this style of play in order to better meet the expectations of our athletes and their public”, explains Annette Steingass, senior director of the Tennis & Court Sport department at Adidas.
The athletes of the new Adidas collection for Roland Garros
The collection Adidas will be previewed at Roland Garros 2023 by a great team of athletes: Stefanos Tsitsipas, Garbine Muguruza, Felix Auger Aliassime, Dana Mathewson, Maria Sakkari and Sascha Zverev. “Clay can be an unpredictable and sometimes unforgiving surface. In 2021 I made it to the final of the most important clay-court tournament of the season, but that’s also where I’ve been put the hardest. I have set myself the goal of consolidating my place among the great tennis players and any victory on clay is an important step in this direction”, said the Greek player Stefanos Tsitsipas.
The range has been available on the brand’s website and app since April 13 and sold in a range of sizes from 2XS to 2XL. Enough to afford the same panoply as your favorite player!
