NBA: in full dead time, Rudy Gobert hits one of his partners

Time out went wrong. In the middle of a game against the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday, Rudy Gobert punched his partner Kyle Anderson. The tone first rose between the two Minnesota Timberwolves players before the winger looked his French teammate in the eye and launched what looked like an insult in the direction of “Gobzilla”.

The latter did not hesitate for long. He moved forward to hit the American in the chest. Anderson tried to fight back but Gobert then backed off and all of the players got in the way. According to journalist Shams Charania, the tricolor international was sent home by the staff of the Timberwolves. Another Minnesota player, Austin Rivers, would have first accompanied the pivot to the locker room to try to talk to him.

The former Utah Jazz basketball player chose his timing particularly badly to be violent towards a teammate. Ninth in the NBA, the Wolves are in the fight with the Pelincans, eighth, to obtain the best position before the play-ins, a sort of preliminary round before the real play-offs. Minnesota has the opportunity to pick up the number of victories with its evening opponent and threaten its eighth place. A more advantageous position to consider the rest of the season.
