NFL Draft: A quarterback in the sights of the Patriots?

The New England Patriots are reportedly seriously considering selecting quarterback Will Levis in the next NFL Draft.

This is what the NFL Network said on Tuesday.

The “Pats” have also invited him to their facilities for a workout last week. According to several NFL experts, Lewis could be chosen among the first 10 players selected in the first round of the 2023 auction. The New England club has the 14th speaking round of this round.

The Patriots’ interest in Lewis is surprising when you consider that the organization relies on Mac Jones as a pivot. They got their hands on this one with the 15th overall pick in the 2021 draft and he’s been their starter ever since.

Jones got the “Pats” into the playoffs in his first season on the Goodell Tour, but was less successful on his second run. Last year, head coach Bill Belichick’s squad went 8-9.

In 14 games in 2022, Jones completed 65.2% of the passes he attempted for 2,997 yards and 14 touchdowns. He was also the victim of 11 thefts.

Coming back to Lewis, the quarterback just completed his college career with the Kentucky Wildcats. He maintained a 65.4% passing percentage and amassed 2,406 yards with his arm in 11 games. The 23-year-old also threw 19 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
