At the close of the third week of the U18 Women’s National Basketball League (LBN), the San Miguelito Cobras march as the only undefeated in six games of the first round, beating the U Girls Hoops by a score of 69-37, in the first game of the ninth day that was held last Sunday, April 23 at the Roberto Durán Arena.
The best on offense for the representatives of the San Miguelito District were Roselyn Sánchez with 16 points, one rebound, three assists and three ball recoveries; followed by point guard Lya González who contributed with 10 points, two rebounds, both defensive, five assists and six steals; Alana Lezcano and Leanice Yearwood both scored 8 points.
In the second game, the Amazonas de Coclé achieved their second victory of the campaign by a score of 53-27 over the Leonas del West.
Setter Victoria Castillo was the most outstanding for the province of Coclé with 12 points, two rebounds, one assist, four recovered balls and one block; Jasmín Flores contributed with a double-double, scored 11 points, was the leader under the boards with twelve rebounds, seven were defensive, one assist and six stolen balls; Daniela Ramírez also scored 11 points, grabbed three rebounds, two steals and Irshely González had 9, four rebounds, three were offensive and she recovered the ball twice.
At the end of the ninth date in the Women’s LBN U18, the girls from Perla Negra add their fourth victory of the season by board of 98 to 62 over the Felinas de Chiriquí, in a match that took place at the La Basita Sports Center in the city of David, province of Chiriquí.
The center Sofía Ponce was the leader for Perla Negra with a double-double, she contributed with 30 points, she was the best in rebounding with twelve, two assists and one stolen ball; accompanied by setter Aylín Villarreal also with double-double, 17 points, three rebounds, leader in assists with ten, two ball recoveries and Ayelen Almengor had 13 points, eight rebounds, six were defensive, one assist and three steals.
