Semi-final out for Hanfmann in Houston

Hanfmann misses finals in Houston

Zverev makes a fool of himself in Miami

Yannick Hanfmann loses the semifinals at the ATP tournament in Houston – and has to wait for a premiere.

The Karlsruhe tennis professional Yannick Hanfmann has to wait for his first final on the ATP tour.

At the clay court tournament in Houston, the 31-year-old lost in the semi-finals after his double shift from the day before against number eight seeded Argentinian Tomas Martin Etcheverry 3: 6, 4: 6. The South American meets the top seeded American Frances Tiafoe in the final.

Hanfmann, who in Texas last Saturday eliminated the US favorite Tommy Paul in the round of 16 and the Czech Tomas Machac in the quarterfinals, had already made it into the semi-finals of an ATP tournament twice before Houston.

But the right-hander also missed the finals in 2017 in Gstaad and 2020 in Kitzbühel.
