The future of Oliver Kahn and Hasan Salihamidzic at FC Bayern is in the balance. The eight-member supervisory board would have to decide on a dismissal.

Munich – FC Bayern is in a deeper crisis, which has reached its peak with the defeat in Mainz. The focus of the media and internal criticism is the CEO Oliver Kahn. But sports director Hasan Salihamidzic also has to worry about his job. Kahn and Brazzo would have to be replaced by the club’s eight-member board of directors. But who belongs to the most powerful body of the German record champions?

FC Bayern: Hoeneß probably still supports Salihamidzic

The supervisory board of FC Bayern consists of eight men. The most well-known and still most prominent name on this body is Honorary President Uli Hoeneß, who presumably still holds the strategic scepter when it comes to filling FCB’s most important positions. While Hoeneß is considered a great critic of Kahn, Salihamidzic is probably still in the favor of the real Bayern boss.

The actual club boss, President Herbert Hainer, also sits on the Munich supervisory board. His influence is considered to be somewhat smaller compared to the great minds Hoeneß, Kahn and Salihamidzic. Another member of the Supervisory Board is Prof. Dr. Dieter Mayer. The Vice President was appointed in 2017. In addition to these functions at Bayern, Mayer also sits on the executive committee of the South German Football Association.

Representatives from business, politics and football: the supervisory board of FC Bayern

In addition to Hoeneß and Co., representatives of the three shareholders of the club sit on the supervisory board of FC Bayern Munich. dr Jan Heinemann represents Adidas, Dr. Werner Zedelius is the Allianz and Markus Duesmann is the CEO of Audi. All three companies have been partners of FCB for many years and each hold 8.33 percent of the club’s shares. Thorsten Langheim from the Board of Management of Deutsche Telekom is also part of the Supervisory Board. Last but not least, the former Bavarian Prime Minister Edmund Stoiber (CSU) completes the round. dr Michael Diederich, who will take over as Vice Chairman and Chief Financial Officer on July 1 and has been a member of the Supervisory Board since 2018, is no longer listed on the FC Bayern website.

All eight members have dedicated themselves to the good of the club, but they probably follow the line of Uli Hoeneß. The honorary president has by far the greatest football expertise and will certainly be able to convince the other members of the supervisory board of his ideas on how things should go with Oliver Kahn and Hasan Salihamidzic.
