Three U9 judoka girls from BC Hemsbach gain experience and success.
Hemsbach. The Budo Club Hemsbach was the organizer of the district individual championship for the seven and eight-year-old judoka in the age group U9.
In the sports hall of the Schiller School, Medina Wtyklo, Marleen Kirste and Lorena Augustin started for the BC Hemsbach. After a short warm-up session with an explanation of the rules of the fight by BCH youth warden and national trainer Dominik Riedel, Lorena Augustin and Medina Wytklo started in weight group 7. In her very first tournament against her opponent from Heidelberg, Medina got into a throw and then into a hold after several courageous attacks.
Her club colleague Lorena Augustin met in the same group in the first fight against an experienced opponent from Bruchhausen, who later placed first, against whom she had to admit defeat despite a dogged resistance. Medina Vtyklo didn’t fare much better against the same opponent. In the second fight, the women from Hemsbach met, gave nothing away, Lorena had small advantages. In the third fight, Lorena gave her opponent from Heidelberg a Seoi-otoshi (shoulder fall), her opponent closed with an O-Soto-Gari (outside sickle). Lorena attacked courageously, so that the judges awarded her victory when there was a tie. A strong second place ahead of Medina.
Marleen Kirste started in weight group 11. Despite equal points in the first fight, the judges saw her opponent as having a slight advantage. With a shoulder throw (Seoi-nage) she pushed her second opponent onto the mat several times and won in the end deservedly on points, which meant a great second place. The organizational team around Corinna Riedel took care of the physical well-being of the visitors, so that the head of the judo department and referee Michael Matt was happy about a successful event.
