For 2023, Q36.5 presents an absolute novelty: the brand’s new proprietary Grid Skin (GRDXKNÆ) technology, developed for cycling clothing.
The Q36.5 Research and Development team has developed the GRDXKNÆ technology, capable of protecting the skin from abrasions in the event of accidents.
Since its first steps, the Italian company based in Bolzano has been characterized by the use of highly technological fabrics designed to favor the thermoregulation of athletes in situations of extreme effort and in any environmental condition, even the most challenging. Its mission is declared in the very name of the brand: Q from the Latin verb ìquaerereî, meaning to investigate, and 36.5, the ideal temperature for a healthy body expressed in ∞C.
The technology uses newly conceived 4D printing to integrate a protective layer into the fabric of the product. The test of the GRDXKNÆ matrix gave successful results as, in crash simulations at a speed of up to 100 km/h, it demonstrated an abrasion resistance five times higher than that of an untreated fabric.
In addition, GRDXKNÆ gives the product an additional cushioning layer that distributes the force of the fall and absorbs the energy, significantly protecting the skin.
Q36.5’s proprietary fabrics enhanced with this special technology remain extremely light, flexible and aerodynamic. Indeed, the GRDXKNÆ technology weighs only 20 g and, thanks to its special three-dimensional structure, favors the aerodynamics of the garments, thus allowing better athletic performance.
GRDXKNÆ is available for the Gregarius shorts and the Pinstripe jersey, stars of the Q36.5 Spring/Summer 2023 collection.
Former professional cyclist Vincenzo Nibali, technical ambassador of the brand, great champion and expert downhill climber, has chosen the Q36.5 Grid Skin garments, which allow him to tackle all types of routes and terrain with more confidence and security.
