Valonsadero Badminton sweeps the Autonómico sub15

The Valonsadero Badminton Club swept this weekend in the Autonomous sub15 and achieving another milestone for badminton from Soriano by proclaiming itself the winner in all five tests. Hugo Sanz, Irene Gárate and África Gazo were the main protagonists at the Eras de Santa Marina de Palencia sports center, achieving a double victory in the men’s singles and men’s doubles events, together with Pablo Delgado (Burgos), women’s singles and women’s doubles, and women’s doubles and mixed doubles respectively. Outstanding performance by Miguel Pérez who won the championship in the mixed doubles event together with África Gazo and the runner-up in the men’s singles. Ian Antón also performed well, who, together with his partner Noel Romera, climbed to the second step of the podium in the men’s doubles and won the bronze medal in the individual event.

Fantastic performance also by Daniel Campos and Alberto Frías in the sub19 who, in their first year in the category, won the men’s doubles and won silver and bronze respectively in the men’s singles.

A total of 10 medals, 6 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze, confirming the volantistas trained by Carlos Palero as the best regional badminton academy and firm candidates to represent Castilla y León in the Spanish National Team Championship. Autonomous, which will be held at the end of June in Talavera de la Reina (Toledo).

With no time for celebrations, the competition group has already resumed training with an eye on the Top Master N2 Sub15 and Sub19 that will be held next weekend in San Lorenzo del Escorial and that will bring together the best rackets on the national scene of both categories. Valonsadero Badminton, with eight registered flyers, will be one of the clubs with the most representation at the event.
