El Spanish Jose Joaquin Arcega-Whitesidewho was a receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles, signed on Monday with the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons after passing rookie camp.
Last Wednesday Arcega-Whiteside entered Atlanta’s rookie camp and his good performance led to the team signing him for the 2023 season.
The Falcons, led by coach Arthur Smithrebuild their offense after the bad results they obtained last year, in which they showed worst passing attack in the league with only 2,699 yards gained.
Arcega-Whiteside is 26 years old and arrived in the NFL in the 2019 draft, in which he was selected in the second round by the Eagles, a team in which he remained until the 2021 season.
Last year he signed with the Seattle Seahawks, a franchise in which he tried to carve out a place at change his position from receiver to tight end, but did not play and left the team in November.
The native of Utebo, Zaragoza, had his best performances in the league in 2019, when he had 169 yards, 10 receptions and a touchdown. In three seasons in Philadelphia, he had 290 yards, 16 receptions and a touchdown..
The Spanish player will compete for one of the main receiving positions in the Falcons, who have players of the caliber of Drake London21 years old and selected in the first round of the 2022 ‘draft’; Mack Hollinschampion in Super Bowl LII with the Eagles, and Scotty MillerSuper Bowl LV winner with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Falcons will seek to return to the ‘playoffs’ this season after in 2022 they finished with a record of seven wins and 10 losses in last place in the South division of the National Conference (NFC).
