The athletes from Esquel Olivia Campos, Santiago Ibáñez and Eileen Jones represented Chubut in the second edition of the Patagonian Integration Games that took place last weekend in Puerto Madryn where they won individual and team medals.
The Patagonian Integration Games began to be developed in 2022 and the first edition was held in La Pampa. All the Patagonian provinces participate in this competition: La Pampa, Neuquén, Rio Negro, Chubut, Santa Cruz and Tierra del Fuego. There they seek to develop individual sports with Olympic projection and indoors, such as climbing, table tennis, tennis, gymnastics, badminton, Olympic lifting and among them is archery.
This year the second edition of the Patagonian Integration Games took place last weekend in the city of Puerto Madryn, province of Chubut. Athletes from the different Patagonian provinces attended. The opening ceremony took place last Thursday with the presence of all the delegations and the competitions began on Friday.
Archery had the classification round on Friday, the individual Round Robin elimination on Saturday and the mixed team Round Robin elimination on Sunday.
The Chubut Archery Selection was made up of Olivia Campos, Santiago Ibáñez and Eileen Jones, archers from the Patagonian Andean Archery Club; and Otoniel Hernández from Comodoro from Amigos del Tiro con Arco. The coaches were Víctor Scarano (Club de Arquería Andino Patagonico) and Walter (Club Amigos del Tiro con Arco).
Results
Eileen Jones in the round Robin eliminatory of the individual draw of the Raso Sub 15 Femenino category won 3 mach (Santa Cruz, Rio Negro and La Pampa) and lost 2 (Neuquén and Tierra del Fuego). With these results and the scores obtained in the classification run the day before, she got the silver medal.
Santiago Ibáñez in the round Robin eliminatory of the individual run of the Raso Su b15 Masculino category won the 5 mach (La Pampa, Rio Negro, Santa Cruz, Tierra del Fuego and Neuquén). With these results and the scores obtained in the qualifying run the day before, he achieved the gold medal.
Olivia Campos in the round Robin eliminatory of the individual shot of the Recurve Under 17 Female category won 4 mach (La Pampa, Río Negro, Santa Cruz and Tierra del Fuego) and lost 1 (Neuquén). With these results and the scores obtained in the classification run the day before, she obtained the silver medal.
Otoniel Hernández won 3 mach and lost 2 in the round Robin eliminatory of the individual shooting of the Recurve Under 17 Male category. With these results and the scores obtained in the qualifying shooting the day before, he won the silver medal.
On Sunday, the mixed team qualifiers were developed in round Robin format.
Eileen and Santiago formed the team in the Raso Sub15 category. Remaining with 4 mach and falling 1 opportunities, they were awarded the silver medal.
Olivia and Otoniel made up the team in the Raso Sub 15 category. Remaining with 4 mach and falling 1 opportunities, they were awarded the silver medal.
