Christian Wood’s future moves away from Dallas

In Dallas they face a very important summer for the direction of the project. Not only because they will have to correct what is necessary to erase what has been a disastrous season, but they will also be forced to do fine with the movements to be made, since the future of Luka Doncic in the organization is beginning to be seriously questioned.

There are several open fronts and one points to the inside game, where the Mavericks have shown many shortcomings to close the rebound and avoid easy points. Thus, the journalist The AthleticTim Cato, reports that the Dallas headquarters are preparing substantial changes to their ‘frontcourt’.

The Mavericks wouldn’t be overly interested in keeping Christian Wood, who has had an inconsistent and spotty role under Jason Kidd, on the roster. Instead, the franchise will try to incorporate much more defensive and rebounding inside profiles. JaVale McGee was underperforming and Dwight Powell will become an unrestricted free agent this summer.

In the same article they venture that the Mavericks would be testing Deandre Ayton in the event that the Phoenix Suns seek to part with him. They also mention Khris Middleton as a potential target to strengthen the outside game.
