Coca-Cola, Ontime and Volvo Trucks will operate with heavy-duty electric trucks from Valencia |

Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, Ontime, and Volvo Trucks have teamed up to operate long-haul heavy-duty electric trucks from the Valencia plant.

The companies anticipate that five 100% electric trucks will be available this year to carry out logistics tasks from the Valencian Community, while the first of them, already available, will be in charge of making the 30-kilometre “shuttle” route, which will from the factory and to your warehouse.

Coca-Cola Europacific Partners y OntimeAs they have detailed, they plan for the rest of the trucks to carry out different routes both from the plant in Quart de Poblet (Valencia) and from its distributor warehouse for direct transport to customers.

Each truck, model ‘Volvo FH Electric’, features three electric motors that are combined with Volvo’s ‘I-Shift’ gearbox, with a maximum combined mass (MMC) of up to 44 tonnes, per instantaneous motor of up to 2,400 Nm, and a power of up to 540 kilowatts (kW) and a total energy storage of 540 kilowatt hours (kWh).

For the Iberia logistics director of Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Iberia, the company hopes with this operation to continue exploring in the future in the short and medium term so that, as members of the ‘EV100 Alliance’, have its entire fleet 100% electric in 2030.

Likewise, the director of business development at Ontime Cristóbal San Juan, recalled that electromobility in its fleet of heavy trucks is “already a reality in Spain”.

For his part, the CEO of Volvo Trucks, Giovanni Bruno, stressed that this is an “exciting” collaboration that demonstrates the commitment to carbon dioxide emission-free transport from companies such as Coca-Cola and Ontime.
