The Denver Broncos Foundation was associated with NFL Mexico to extend the program Tochito NFL in Mexico, this was announced during the press conference on Friday at the Mexico City. Tochito NFL is the national flag football program of Mexico launched by the League in 2000.
As part of this alliance, the Denver Broncos Foundation will support 60 schools in Mexico City and Monterrey With this program within schools, which will receive flag football kits (American footballs, flags, bags, etc.) and teachers will be able to certify themselves in the fundamentals of this sport.
In addition, the Broncos will sponsor two age group Tochito tournaments nationwide for mixed and women’s leagues.
“Through this partnership with NFL Mexico, the Broncos are able to provide consistent outreach aligned with our mission, vision and values for the Foundation,” said Community Impact Vice President, Allie Angels. “Not only can we help grow the game at its basic level through this program in schools, but we can also support those who have already found their love for the game through tournaments. It is a unique opportunity that NFL Mexico presented to IHMA teams and we are excited to be a part of it.”
“This is the first commitment of its kind and in quantity by any team in the League, and it is the first sign of participation at this level by an NFL team,” said NFL Mexico General Director, Arturo Olivé, at the team press conference. “We are pleased and grateful to the entire Broncos organization for this great support.”
This alliance is the result of Programa International Home Marketing Area (IHMA). The Broncos were one of the nine teams chosen for Mexico in 2021.
The program allows clubs like the Broncos access to increased fan engagement and marketing within Mexico as part of a long-term strategic effort to build their global brand while driving NFL fan growth internationally.
