Shinzo Murayama conquered the title in the Kodokan Cup, after accumulating 18 medals
The Shinzo Murayama club was proclaimed absolute champion in the Kodokan Sensei Julio Félix Echazú Peralta Cup, a judo tournament held this past Saturday and Sunday at the El Niño Coliseum.
The competition, endorsed by the Peruvian Judo Sports Federation, was organized by the Kodokan club with the support of the Mariano Melgar District Municipality, whose mayor is engineer Óscar Ayala.
Shinzo Murayama prevailed in the general summation in the Sub-13 and Sub-15 categories and in cadets (15 to 17 years old) and in juniors (18 to 20 years old) he fastened the runner-up.
He collected a total of 18 medals, 7 gold, 7 silver and 4 bronze.
Approximately 150 judokas from various regions of Peru such as Arequipa, Chimbote, Lima, Iquitos, Tacna, Puno, Cusco and Puerto Maldonado participated. In the selective championship, which added points for the national ranking, a miniprix was also included where nearly 60 children from 3 to 9 years old participated on Saturday.
