Giannis sent to the Warriors? The crazy blockbuster trade that would shake the league!

The season having ended in a very disappointing way for the Bucks, some are already questioning the future of Giannis Antetokounmpo on the spot. Could the superstar want to set sail this summer? A berserk trade involving the Warriors was notably suggested. We take stock.

Everything was going well for the Bucks before that fateful series against the Heat. The regular season had seen Mike Budenholzer’s men finish with the best record in the league and the 2021 champion already saw himself going to recover his crown lost to Golden State last year. But in the end, Giannis Antetokounmpo and others will watch the rest of the playoffs from home, after losing 4-2.

This resounding upset had immediate consequences for the Wisconsin franchise. Coach Bud was fired after five years at the helm of the squad, which marks a real turning point for him. On top of that, some players could jump ship this summer for financial reasons… and to make matters worse, the Greek Freak finds himself at the heart of the rumours.

If he should stay until the end of his contract which will expire in two years, the Greek interior is already announced leaving beyond this one. This would be a terrible loss for Milwaukee, especially if it had to slip away without consideration in exchange… The only way to avoid such a disaster would therefore be to trade it and as such, the site FadeAway World notably suggested an XXL transaction with the Warriors:

• The Warriors receive : Giannis Antetokounmpo

• The Bucks receive : Draymond GreenAndrew Wiggins, Jonathan Kuminga and two first-round picks in 2023 and 2025

It may seem completely crazy as a scenario at first, and not sure that the Daims will accept such an offer from the Dubs, but you should never say never…

On the Bay side, we are also preparing for an eventful summer. Draymond Green has been announced on the departure for a while while Jordan Poole and Klay Thompson are not unanimous either. Golden State wishing to maximize its return on the last years of career of Stephen Curryadding Giannis to the roster would be an ideal way to rebuild a competitive team in a short period of time.

As for the Bucks, who could lose pivot Brook Lopez this summer, the acquisition of the Dancing Bear would allow them to keep a defensive anchor in the racket. The arrivals of Wiggins and Kuminga would also offer them a nice rotation on the wings to accompany Khris Middleton. However, it would still certainly mark the end of an era of dominance for the franchise.

In fact, it is difficult to see Milwaukee give in and trade Giannis Antetokounmpo from the 2023 offseason. If there were to be an exchange, it would probably only take place in a year. But count on the competition and a fortiori the Warriors to try their luck, if the slightest opportunity arises…
