All three athletes of the Judo Team Wängle won medals

The 2023 competition season is still young. It is all the more gratifying that a fighter from the Wängle judo team won the Tyrolean judo championship title in the Ausserfern. Almost 275 judoka from all over Tyrol were in Innsbruck on April 23 in pursuit of the championship title. The organizers were pleased with the large number of participants.

A small but strong troop of three judoka was registered from Wängle to compete in one of the most important judo tournaments in Tyrol. And it was worth it, because all three starters were rewarded with medals. Above all, the freshly crowned yellow belt Kevin Weirather surprised and made his club very proud. He managed to win all his fights in the U14 age group in his weight class and brought the title of “Tyrolean Judo Individual Champion” to Wängle. Judoka Enrique Monteiro had a very difficult fate: He started as a U14 category fighter in the U16 class – his opponents were about three years older than Enrique. Nevertheless, he fought bravely and rewarded himself with a great bronze medal. In the general class, as in the previous year, Judo Team Wängle trainer Sylvia Konzmann was nominated and was also able to fight for third place in the relatively well-occupied category.
Congratulations to the three Wängler judoka.
